A Stage for the Baltic Region

For three weeks each autumn, the Usedomer Musikfestival presents music from all ten countries around the Baltic Sea, with one country in focus per season since 1999. The festival has been honoured with the Tryton Cultural Prize of the city of Świnoujście (2006), the European Cultural Prize (2015), and carried the EFFE Quality Label of the European Union from 2015 to 2018.

The Peenemünde Concerts

Together with the Historisch-Technisches Museum and Norddeutscher Rundfunk, the festival inaugurated the turbine hall of the former Peenemünde Power Station as a concert venue in 2002. World-class conductors including Mstislav Rostropovich, Kurt Masur, Krzysztof Penderecki, Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Järvi family have performed here.

Commitment to Music Education

In 2008, the Usedomer Musikfestival founded the Baltic Sea Philharmonic, an orchestra of young musicians from all ten Baltic countries. Since 2005, the festival has hosted the Baltic Music Forum at Schloss Stolpe, where cellist David Geringas leads an annual masterclass for outstanding young cellists.
