This year, the time-honoured Baltic Sea Music Forum will once again take place from 22 to 29 September 2025 at the picturesque Schloss Stolpe on Usedom. For the 21st time, the Usedomer Musikfestival offers a special experience for music lovers and emerging artists.
The internationally renowned cellist, chamber musician and conductor David Geringas will lead masterclasses for highly gifted music students as artistic mentor. These masterclasses and concerts offer a unique opportunity to work intensively with top artists and to engage with the dramaturgy of the Usedomer Musikfestival.
David Geringas, a student of Rostropovich and winner of the 1st prize and gold medal at the Tchaikovsky Competition in 1970, ranks among the elite musicians of our time. Born in Vilnius, Lithuania, he impresses with a broad repertoire from the earliest Baroque to contemporary music. His intellectual rigour, stylistic versatility, melodic sensibility and tonal refinement have earned him worldwide recognition.
For many years, Geringas has been a regular guest at the Usedomer Musikfestival, where he both performs and passes on his craft. The masterclass accompanist is Tamami Toda-Schwarz.
